Woah what a day Sunday proved to be, the first outing in the first ever Spitfire 8. What a momentous achievement for the whole club. It is really a statement to have a boat of that length snd status down the boat house!
A huge thank you to @maidstoneinvictarowingclub for this wonderful opportunity. We look forward to more outings and races in this beast!

The Mike Kennedy is getting a respray!
On Saturday 14th September we are hosting another breakfast morning to help fundraise for the long term project. The Mike Kennedy is a Stelph 2x that has been off the water for over 5 years. All profits of the morning are helping to fund the project.

Tea £1

We are running this just before the Learn to Row session 1, please arrive around half 8. There are still slots for the Learn to Row so message if interested!

This adorable pair of local residents have had chicks again... it was lovely seeing the little balls of fluff out on the river after our own session 😊.

🚨RACE REPORT - SUDBURY 24🚨
On Saturday 3rd August Spitfire made the annual trip to the wonderful Sudbury for the International Regatta. The captain towed with the wonderful puntonator for a great camp the previous evening. Partnered with members from @ukcrowingclub and @lucyyabigail_ of Maidstone Invicta, it set to become a great event.

@charlie.forster.04 was the first winner 🥇 of the day, winning firstly his semi final and secondly the final of the Open 1x Challenger competition.
Our second and final win 🥇 came from the Captain @manuelmarque after a great duel with VC Ben, an all Spitfire final after both respectively won their previous races, manny took the photo finish after previously being behind after the first bend. It was Carl Douglas v 2000s Burgashell, sometimes the tortoise does in-fact win the race 😂

A huge thank you to @sudburyrowingclubuk for another well ran event after the downpour that occurred last year, we will be back!

Spitfire went coastal! We had a great day at Deal Regatta today! Creating composite @hernebayrowing crews, sadly nothing won today but we will be back better and stronger! A huge thank you to all members who took part and helped organise the event. ❤️

We (together with @ukcrowingclub ) had a great time this past weekend at @huntingdonbc regatta - a nice, friendly, well-organised event to kickstart our summer racing season. Even with the torrential downpours in the middle of the day, our enthusiasm was not dampened.
We will certainly be back!

We had to unfortunately postpone our training away day at @bewl_bridge_rowing due to the winds forecast for later in the day, but that didn't stop us - we had six crews out on the water this morning, supported by a coaching launch. Well done everyone, and it is definitely more pleasant to be out in this lovely weather 🙂
